I have been asked frequently why I came back to Hong Leong Bank after leaving back in 1997. Well, I started my career in a local bank back in 1983 and joined Hong Leong Bank in 1995 as a Credit Executive. I was promoted to Assistant Branch Manager in the same year and subsequently as Branch Manager in the following year. Well, does that sum it all up? In Hong Leong Bank, we get rewarded for performance. Everyone is fairly appraised and there is no denying that good performers get rewarded. Does that answer your question then? Many of my ex-staff have since progressed in their career and I was especially pleased to note that almost all the tellers who were under me when I was the Assistant Branch Manager then are now Branch Service Managers. Besides, Hong Leong Bank could boasts of having a varied pool of talented individuals within the organization and the opportunity for us to learn from one another.
