As a graduate in Accounting & Finance most would have joined an accounting firm to “learn their trade” & qualify as a chartered accountant. But when the opportunity to qualify in one of the premier banks in the country arose, I knew it was an opportunity too good to pass up on. Stepping into the bank for my first day, I was pretty nervous. But my colleagues who are both very helpful and friendly instantly put me at ease. Based in Finance & Performance Management division I am given the opportunity to work on some of the banks leading initiatives. With the guidance and support given by my experienced colleagues I find my self not only learning the “trade” but also contributing to the banks efforts. This is both satisfying and rewarding. Working here at Hong Leong bank has not only given me the opportunity to learn the business but it also gives me the opportunity to improve my proficiencies in problem solving, inter-personal skills and other abilities. This is because in an industry which is highly competitive we are constantly challenged to improve. As the saying in Hong Leong goes “If better is possible, good is not enough.” |

Joining Hong Leong Bank as MIS Executive in Personal Financial Services, Credit Cards division for the past one year was a great turning point for me. I was exposed to various banking operation flows and was given the opportunity to handle a banking enhancement system project. I value the advice, support and learning opportunities given by my superiors and colleagues. Being a junior executive in Hong Leong Bank, I have improved my communication skills, developed the skills of planning, organizing and problem solving which are very beneficial to me in carrying out my daily duties effectively, confidently & independently.
